Here are 10 piano solos in all different styles and genres that represent the beauty of flowers and gardens.
1. “To A Wild Rose” by Edward Alexander MacDowell
This is a lovely and not-too-difficult classical piece. It has simple melody line and some really beautiful unconventional harmonies.
2. “Flower Duet” from Lakmé by Delibes, arranged by William Haviland
This is an impressive arrangement of this beautiful orchestral and vocal piece. It is voiced really nicely to reflect the different instrumental and sung voices in the original version.
3. “Waltz of the Flowers” by Tchaikovsky, arranged by Michael Sinshack

This transcription stays pretty true to the original orchestration from The Nutcracker. It’s definitely a challenge to pull off on the piano but it’s a great opportunity to emulate orchestral timbres on the piano.
4. “Jardins Sous La Pluie” by Claude Debussy
Translated to ‘Gardens In The Rain’, this piece is a lovely representation of an impressionism that depicts imagery of raindrops, birds chirping and other garden scenes. It’s a technically challenging piece.
5. “Sitting In An English Garden” by David Lanz
This refreshing, peaceful piece has hints of jazz and new age styles. It’s 7 pages long and moves along quickly, but plays solidly at an intermediate level.
6. “The Rose” by Bette Midler, arranged by Tom Roed
Here’s stunning arrangement of this longtime favorite song. It starts simple with the well-known open fifths in the right hand and melody in the left hand. The arrangement develops into a fuller, flowing texture before two modulations.
7. “Song From A Secret Garden” by Secret Garden
From the artists who wrote the popular song “You Raise Me Up”, this is a gorgeous and touching piece of music. It was written to represent the secret garden that exists within each person: their deepest feelings and impressions. This pieces is well suited for later intermediate pianists.
8. “The Enchanted Garden” by Keven Kern
This is another lyrical, reflective piano solo. The left hand is mostly flowing arpeggiated chords while the right hand carries the melodic line. It is another beautiful pieces suitable for later intermediate pianists.
9. “Flowers on the Water” by Kostia
This is a really unique but beautiful piece of music. It carries a drone E throughout much of the piece, with beautiful running lines of melody dancing around it.
10. “Jasmine Flower”, Chinese Folksong, arranged by Bobby Cyr

This arrangement from Piano Notion fills out the simple pentatonic melody with an arpeggiated bass line. It is not difficult, but it maintains a pure and delicate sound. It also includes chord symbols if you would like to improvise on the melody line.
