Julie Galorenzo, a musical theater actor and coach, has been sharing some of her favorite musical theater songs for altos, specifically ones that don’t go too high. Now, she’s compiled them into one comprehensive list for you to browse!
And although the title says that this list is for altos, these songs could actually be for anyone. If it’s in your range or you want to transpose it, just go for it!
For most of these arrangements, the highest notes are between G-B, but some include a C. She organized the music into different categories, so if you’re looking for a certain genre or type of song for your audition book, you can easily find it.
