Counting Down Adele’s 10 Greatest Hits!
With the upcoming release of Adele’s new album, we wanted to look back at some of her greatest hits so far! Featuring hits like “Water Under the Bridge”, “Skyfall”, “Rumour Has It”, and “Hello”, this blog is full of powerful music.

It’s almost here! With Adele’s newest single “Easy On Me” officially out, rumor has it that her new album drops on November 19. 👀 (Just kidding… there’s no rumor: she is officially releasing 30 on that date!)
In the meantime, we wanted to take a look back at some of her greatest hits so far. With three studio albums and 15 Grammy wins to her name, it was difficult to decide which songs made the cut.

10. Send My Love (To Your New Lover)
Starting off our list at number 10 is “Send My Love (To Your New Lover)”! This song features an uptempo beat and lyrics directed at her ex, showing she’s “happy [he’s] gone.” As part of her studio album titled 25, this hit was released back in 2016.

9. Chasing Pavements
“Chasing Pavements” helped Adele earn her one of her first Grammy awards back in 2009, for “Best Female Pop Vocal Performance.” This song helped elevate Adele into the mainstream music, as it was her first time on the Billboard Hot 100 charts.

8. When We Were Young
The beautiful song “When We Were Young” was released back in 2016. It can make the listener feel nostalgic, as the lyrics focus on memories of the past.

7. Water Under the Bridge
Another song from 25, “Water Under the Bridge” is up next in our countdown. With a focus on relationships and determining whether your partner is “in or out,” this song has powerful lyrics that landed it at #7 for our list.

6. Skyfall
“Skyfall” was the theme song to the James Bond movie of the same name. It won many awards, including the Grammy for “Best Song Written for Visual Media.” With a darker tone than some of her other songs, this track set the mood perfectly for the “Skyfall” film.

5. Set Fire to the Rain
Up next is Adele’s “Set Fire to the Rain.” Her performance from “Live at the Royal Albert Hall” won her a Grammy for “Best Pop Solo Performance” (see video above). The emotion in this song comes through and helped it earn a spot in the top 5 on our list!

4. Rumour Has It
With a catchy beat and intriguing lyrics, this song comes in at number 4 on our list. “Rumour Has It” was released with her studio album 21. Adele has said that the meaning “was aimed at her friends who believed things they heard about her.” Glee featured this song, along with “Someone Like You,” to create a popular Adele mashup.

3. Rolling in the Deep
“Rolling in the Deep” was the first track on Adele’s 21, setting the bar high for the rest of the album. This song was Number 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 list for 7 weeks and even won her three Grammy Awards.

2. Hello
Admit it… you’ve definitely belted out the lyrics to this song! “Hello” took the world by storm back in 2015, spending 10 weeks at Number 1 on the Billboard Hot 100. The heartbreaking lyrics combined with the dramatic and powerful background music catches our attention every time we hear it. Did you know it was even featured in a viral SNL skit, “A Thanksgiving Miracle”?

1. Someone Like You
We’re rounding out our list with “Someone Like You”! This hit was her first Number 1 single in the UK and spent 5 weeks at Number 1 on the Billboard Hot 100. People around the world related to her emotional lyrics, which Adele wrote after her ex-boyfriend became engaged to another woman just a couple of months after their breakup.
