· “Call Me Maybe” by Carly Rae Jepsen: This pop classic was originally written as a folk song, but it seemed to come together after adding all the dance pop elements. Enjoy this sheet music arrangement which includes the important bass line in the piano accompaniment.
· “Havana” by Camila Cabello feat. Young Thug: A number-one hit for Camila Cabello, this salsa-inspired Latin pop song was played all over the radio in the summer of 2017. It features a catchy bass line in the piano, and the lyrics include the rap lyrics by Young Thug.
· “Shape of You” by Ed Sheeran: Originally written for another artist, this song is one of Ed Sheeran’s biggest hits. It features a repeated piano pattern in the accompaniment, so this is a great arrangement for piano players to sing along!
· “A Sky Full of Stars” by Coldplay: One of the band’s first dance tracks, this is a shift in the normal sound from Coldplay. This also features a repeated chord pattern to allow the melody to shine.
· “Love Yourself” by Justin Bieber: This song is Justin Bieber’s third consecutive number one hit. It features a simple chordal accompaniment, so feel free to sing along with this catchy melody!
· “Get Lucky” by Daft Punk: Featuring Pharrell Williams and Nile Rodgers, this dance hit features a repeated syncopated chord pattern in the accompaniment. Be sure to bring out the vocal line, including the gradually building chorus.
· “Shut Up and Dance” by Walk the Moon: The band’s biggest hit single, this catchy dance song was number one on the Billboard Alternative Songs chart as well as the Hot Adult Contemporary chart. It features an accessible piano part with repeated motives in each section.
· “Moves Like Jagger” by Maroon 5: This electropop hit features vocals by Christina Aguilera. It was another number one hit, so this song qualified Christina to be the fourth woman to have number-one singles in three different decades. This arrangement features the optional whistle part as well as a quite rhythmic piano accompaniment.
· “The Middle” by Zedd, Maren Morris & Grey: This synth-pop hit by Zedd needed just the right vocalist, so before they picked Maren Morris for the job, they recorded demos from many other singers, including Demi Lovato, Camila Cabello, and Bebe Rexha. It features a full rhythmic chordal accompaniment in the chorus, while the verses have a sparser accompaniment to bring out the lyrics.
· “Happy” by Pharrell Williams: Guaranteed to put you in a good mood, this catchy song was originally written for the movie Despicable Me 2. It was the bestselling song in the United States in 2014, and it features some jazzy chords in the chorus with a rhythmic bass line throughout.
· “Pompeii” by Bastille: The band’s first breakthrough hit, this song references the Roman town of Pompeii that was destroyed during the eruption of Mount Vesuvius in ancient times. The piano accompaniment begins with a rhythmic repeated pattern in the verse and moves into a methodical bass line in the chorus.
· “Uptown Funk” by Bruno Mars: This funky classic by Mark Ronson and Bruno Mars has a retro 1980s vibe. This arrangement includes drum cues in the accompaniment as well as backup vocals, so gather some friends to recreate this catchy dance tune!
